http://www.tomofujita.com/jpn/index.html
先週までフロリダのToneFest(アンプ好きな人が集まる会)に行ってきました。
Tomo
............
Tomo was entertaining and enlighting if above my head for much of it. I don't think that any amount of practice will ever allow my right hand and wrist to move the way his does.
......
Hi,
The most impressive thing the whole weekend was not an amp or pedal or guitar, it was Tomo's playing. HOLY SHIT MAN !!!!!
I needed to spend time with wife and I missed his clinic Friday.
I never even heard of him before this amp fest .
I have not been blown away with such a cool style since Junior Brown.
It did not matter what amp he used, that dude was magic.
Rob
.......
Tomo's clinic was such a neat thing. it either inspired you to try and step it up to a new level or else use your guitar for a boat paddle. I am still considering which way to go.... I guess i need a boat before I get a paddle so for now my strat is safe.
.........
He's got a guitar "voice" and vocabulary all his own which always comes out regardless of the gear he's using.
There's nothing else that I've heard that's like it.
It's different... really different.
It's immediately recognizable as Tomo.
The clinic was my favorite part.
Needless to say, I'm one of his biggest fans.
...........
I am working on my own version of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Spangled Banner" for next years show!
Tomo, your clinic really inspired me and I'm glad that I was able to hang with you and Barry and the Dudes. Plus, everyone really enjoyed you guys coming to my studio and jamming on Wednesday, I am honored to be friends with you.
...........
Tomo's clinic was great. Lots of good ideas to work on. His CD's have been in rotation in my car since I got them, A great player and a nice person as well
............
Tomo Fujita was terrific, not only as a player but he was inspiring in his character as well. He is truly an inspirational player and his clinic was excellent, even for non-technical players like myself. I left with a new resolve and Tomo helped to clear away some obstacles. If you like melodic players, whose playing makes sense and is interesting and appealing, you'll like Tomo. I know I sure did
..............
The star of Tone Fest this year was Tomo. Dean and I were talking one night and Dean mentioned that Tomo was coming. He had just purchased Tomo's DVD. I had never heard of Tomo and asked about him. Dean said that he was a professor at Berklee and that he was very funk oriented. I thought to myself "cool, he should be good." I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought that he would be as good as he is. I have had the privilage of sitting down and hearing many gifted players in person. However, there are very few of those times that I felt like I was in the immediate presence of true greatness or genius. Well , hearing and watching Tomo play was one of those times! If you look up the term "guitar virtuoso" in the dictionary, you will see Tomo's face. He has a style that is completley original and unique. He is also a true gentleman. He is very humble and unassuming. He also has a great sense of humor. Many really talented players that I have met reminded me too much of Tom Cruise's character in "Top Gun." Alot of them should have "Maverick" tattooed on thier foreheads. Tomo is the complete opposite of this. I also learned alot from his clinic. I bought his DVD and went thru it last night. I am going to learn ALOT from it also.
............
As for some of the other Gear Page guys that made it extra special this year, Tomo is a machine! He is tight, funky and always has that sense of appropropiateness for every note he plays, but most importantly, he is a class act and a great guy! I am sorry we couldn't spend more time together.
............
Mr. Weber is a true gentleman to the cause as well and went way above the call of duty this year to make it a great one by bringing Mr. Fujita down as well as his own clinic! Man, that dudes frankenstrat through the Heritage was DA BOMB!!!!!!! That boy can't get lowdown!!! You rock !!!!!
Tomo Fujita, what can you say about that guy!!!!!?! He is a really great person and a slammin' picker and teacher! I don't think he had any trouble getting his points accross to the audience even if he struggles with our language because great music is international! I truly enjoyed working and getting to know him and am greatly honored to call him friend and that is what these get togethers are really all about anyway! You should have seen him jammin' with George Harris' rockin' combo........ PRICELESS!!!!
That child sure can spank da plank!HA!
...........
Barry's slide playing was killer, as most of you probably already know. Tomo - wow, what can you say - incredible range of styles. Makes everything he plays look so easy too - I'll bet he could probably do it in his sleep (almost).
